Shock absorbers are a type of oil
pumps. The mechanism of shock absorbers works by way of pistons, piston rods,
and valves. At the end of the piston rod, a piston is attached and it works
against the hydraulic fluid in the pressure tube. As the suspension moves up
and down, the hydraulic fluid is forced through the holes inside the
piston. This fluid helps in slowing down
the piston movement which in tune slows down spring and suspension
movement. Read more
